DC United draws 1-1 with Real Salt Lake

The game in quotes

Nowak

On tonight’s performance:

“We need to keep the ball a bit longer so we find our rhythm again.  I think we played very good the first half. The ball was moving very well but the last pass didn’t come as we wanted and we missed a couple good chances in the first half already.  We had enough chances to win the game…we shouldn’t be happy with one point.”

On winning the Supporter’s Shield:

“We want to win the Supporters Shield and we put ourselves in a good position right now to just keep going.”

On MLS officiating:

Question: In the first 20 games DC was playing its game and was taking the game to its opponents, and since then what has been the difference? Why are they not playing their game?

Nowak: Officiating.

Question: Can you expand on that?

Nowak: Not really.

Rod Dyachenko on tonight’s result:

“It was one of those games where we think we should have come out with a win and we came out with a tie”

Freddy Adu on his brilliant free kick goal:

“I have been practicing that a lot lately and I just wanted to take my chance in a game…

It helps your confidence personally. When you score like that hopefully the floodgates open and your able to score more goals but at the end of the day, we didn’t win and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am that we didn’t win this game.”

Donnet sobre su primer partido en DC:

“Come fue su primer partido en Washinton?”

“Bien. Bien. Contento. Creo que jugamos el primer tiempo con ritmo y todo el segundo lo perdimos un poco, pero estoy contento.”

 “Como estas fisicamente?”

“Esto es lo que mi falta, pero bueno. El primero tiempo fue importante por lo fisico fue con mucho ritmo."
