DC United Makes Playoff Push

DC United’s playoff hopes suffered a major blow when Dwayne De Rosario injured his knee while playing in a World Cup Qualifier, keeping him out for the remainder of the season.

Despite the setback, DC United posted a 2-1 victory over New England, courtesy of a goal and assist from forward Chris Pontius and an outstanding performance in goal from Bill Hamid.

DC United continues its push tonight at Philadelphia, knowing that a win would allow them to leap from Columbus, who won last night in dramatic fashion, into the 5th and final playoff spot and get within 2 points of rival New York Red Bulls.
